Darlington Railway Museum

Twice per month Craig Bailey gave his listeners of the breakfast show a chance to join in on the NightFreakz paranormal investigation. In March 2007 we visited the Historic Darlington Railway Museum. This was a special night as it was the last event to be held at museum as it closing for a year for refurbishment.
The team arrived at the location and seemed anxious from the start, the place was very dark, very cold and a very lonely place.

The investigation started off with the teams each departing for different rooms in the museum, the Cellar, The old ticket office, 3 outside rooms including the old First aid room and the platforms themselves.

The night was a very interesting night Craig screamed louder than he had ever done before when he was faced head to head with someone else staring straight back at him in the old ticket room. The face disappeared and left the whole team in shock, this was the first thing I had ever seen and the first thing I can actually say was a ghost and believe me it really was a scary experience. You never no how you are going to react until you see something and at least it's over with and I am looking forward to doing the next investigations.

The location was as buys as we expected with people being touched, breathed on, pushed over and tapped on the head on more than one occasion. We also had major interference on our walky talkies and at one stage someone shouted "May Day May Day" followed by "All aboard, all aboard" We have no idea who this was and given the fact that this is a railway museum it makes you think doesn't it. This has never happened before.

We had lots of white noise on them all the way through the night and on the final investigation of the night we were in the old first class carriages and heard a loud dragging noise on the floor of the carriages followed by a very cold draft that everyone felt. We felt this was the time to end the investigation.

Thank you to everyone at the Railway Museum it was a privilege to be allowed into such a historical place and we would love to re visit the location in the near future

Kings Head Hotel Darlington

Twice per month Craig Bailey gave listeners of the breakfast show a chance to join in on the NightFreakz paranormal investigation. we visited the Kings Head Hotel in Darlington. And we were not disappointed or let down by the somewhat pleasant looking hotel.

The night started quiet and we were lucky enough to be given access to the whole of the fourth floor of the hotel which is reportedly the most haunted place in the hotel, and this proved to be the case. As the night went on we could feel the atmosphere building and it was in the corridor of the fourth floor where all major events took place. We saw something walking from one side of the corridor to the other, someone standing against the wall starting straight at us, we also saw a little girl maybe aged seven years old standing in the arch way bowing her head wearing a hat (tied under her chin) a long frock with frills at the bottom.

We also used our Digital cameras to take some pictures, I felt someone was standing near the door facing one of our team and it was only when we looked back at the pictures that you can clearly see a little boy and girl standing facing John (one of the team)
At the end of the night we decide to place the Ouija board out of harms way above my head on the shelf. For some reason I felt as though the male spirit who had been following us all night did not want the woman to be there, I Asked "if you don't want us here then please make us leave" As soon as I said it, the Ouija board smashed with glass shattering everywhere, I can safely say I have never been so scared in my whole life. We decided to end the night not long after when two of the girls in the group vomited at the same time, when asked what happened they said they both felt that someone had walked through them.

Once again, what an amazing night, and a huge thank you to the fantastic Kings Head Hotel and Simon the manager.

Paramount Redworth Hall Hotel

The paramount Redworth Hall Hotel was one of the quietest investigations we have uncounted but still it was a very interesting night and a place that we loved being at. The hotel came with a lot of history and dated back to the early 1800's. It was reported to be haunted by more than 3 ghosts. We were on the search for Lord Surtees. The Hotel used to be a place where naughty boys were sent and some of them were even chained to the fireplace in the great hall.

A member of our team had already experienced phenomena when they were at a wedding reception and saw someone on the balcony next to the person who was playing the piano. Unfortunately on the night we never found Lord Surtees or the the child ghost that haunt's the Great Hall.

We did however experience things being thrown at him in the caller and footsteps in the cellar and the bedrooms, we also felt as though we were being watched in many of the rooms on the second floor.

Outside the hotel we had access to an air raid shelter which hadn't been investigated for many years, some of the teams that experienced the shelter said they felt very on edge and had a funny smell and strange sounds that followed them throughout the night.

We had many orbs that were caught on camera and once again we did come across battery drains on the Audio Recorder called the Marantz

8th July 2007

Thanks to everyone who visited the hotel for the second time with me last night, it was another interesting investigation with plenty of things happening. We visited room 12, room 13, room 14, the cellar, the air raid shelter and the outside grounds, we were on the search for Lord Surtees, we came across many things last night, even with the bedrooms seemingly quiet all the activity was taking place in the cellar and also in the great hall, Glass being thrown at us, also candles thrown and stones by a nasty spirit in the cellar, there was definitely something down there that did not want us there, Various cold spots, and heat spots along with noises, bangs and wraps in the cellar. The large great hall also threw up a few surprises with noises, doors opening on demand and voices heard from the lower floor.
The bedroom 11 was also interesting with something playing with the electrics, the TV set that was in the room turned itself on on more than five occasions and sometimes seeming to do this on demand, creaking floor boards, shuffles and footsteps added to the atmosphere.

Thank you to two great people, Malcolm and Andrea who tried and did well to shed light on what spirits were in the rooms with us and also by keeping our protection right. Here is Malcolm's account of the happening last night.

Craig, just wanted to say thanks for a great night at Redworth Hall, I just wish I was able to stay awake for longer. If I wasn't falling asleep I'd of stayed. There was a serving girl with Lady Mary, in the great hall. I feel that it may of been lady Mary who wanted Andréa to go up and up... (first time in Cellar) The country gentleman that I saw in the great hall I feel was the head master or the head of the garrison. Don't know which. The lady in the wheelchair who I said was waiting for someone, I think her son AND husband was involved in some sort of fight with (Excuse the description) peasants vs. Landowners, her men were on peasants side, they were carrying pitch forks and a bloody big hay fork type thing... about 10ft long...

The smuggler  was slain by a man in a Bright red uniform. he was slain for hiding something in the cellar in a metal and wood box (like a chest) this was placed in the first alcove near corridor of cellar (WHERE THE PLATES WERE STACKED) He was slain near the steps of the cellar, in the left hand side of his body... As for the hooded High fellow? I don't know and I don't really what to know about him, he put the shits up me. All I know about him is that he demanded respect in his living form...

Thanks to everyone that came and please feel free to email me your comments and I will post them on our site.

Walworth Castle

Our First investigation took place at the amazing Walworth Castle, Walworth Darlington. The castle was amazing and we were given access to lots of the rooms inside as well as the dungeons which proved to be fantastic and the most spooky place of them all. All the way through the night we experienced difference things including battery drains in one of the bedrooms and the most peculiar smell of old fashioned rose perfume that followed us from the dungeon and then into the bedroom.

We had doors opening and slamming shut in the bedrooms, people being touched, poked. We came across a nasty spirit in the dungeons and one of he team who is a complete sceptic felt a tightening of the neck followed by a smell of rotting flesh. We carried out several experiments trough the night including trigger objects, EMF experiments and séance's

Overall it was a slow but very good night at this great castle and we would love to come back anytime to the castle, it has so many rooms where strange noises that occurred and paranormal things happened all the way through the night.

There is defiantly unfinished business at the Walworth Castle and we endeavour to go back as soon as we can
